Composer
Tom Lachance is a Montreal-based Canadian composer whose music is grounded in synesthesia — the perception of connections between different senses. Using visual and tactile stimuli to generate musical structures and ideas, his work explores the relationships between sound, landscapes, natural processes, and visual art. His works have been commissioned and performed by various ensembles, including Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Nouvel Ensemble Moderne (NEM), Cobalt String Quartet and the TorQ Percussion Quartet, in different venues across Canada, United States and Europe.
